One week!!!

Happy one-week birthday, Sadie!  It’s been quite the week.  We had our one-week check-up with the pediatrician, and things went really well.  We like the doctor a lot, though Sadie didn’t so much like the exam portion–or having to undress for the weighing.  She’s already almost back up to her birthweight (8 pounds, 14 ounces–today she was 8 pounds, 12 ounces), which typically takes about two weeks to do…a good sign that breastfeeding is going well!  She still sleeps a ton, and she gets the hiccups all the time.  She has them right now.

Well, I had to abandon this post in order to feed said baby girl, and now I can’t for the life of me remember what else I was about to post…  But, it’s late, and it’s going to be my turn to sleep with Sadie soon (I’ll post on what recovering from a c-section is like later–but part of it involves having to sleep on the couch because of being unable to lie down in or get up from the bed), so I’ll post the pictures we took today on Sadie’s one-week birthday, as well as a comparison between my belly about a week before she was born.  (Remember that huge belly picture that should have tipped me off that I was carrying an eight-pounder?  Yeah, it’s kind of gloopy and scary now, but I’m going to show you anyway.)

    Happy Birthday, Sadie! 🙂

Also, it’s awesome you remembered to put the one week belly photo up. I meant to, and Sean even wondered out loud after the day had come and gone if everyone who says they’ll do that forgets as well. Kudos to you!

Happy Birthday Sadie! Looks like things are going well. Don’t worry your belly will go down some everyday and eventually get nornal again (at least that is what mine did). Sadie is too cute and giving me baby fever and that is not good!
