Sadie, you’re four months old! I can hardly believe it.
You’ve grown so much over the past month, and your personality and skills are just blossoming! You’ve mastered rolling from back to tummy and tummy to back, but you still sometimes get frustrated on your tummy and seem to forget that you can go back on your back. In addition to putting your feet in your mouth every chance you get, you’re now putting anything you can get ahold of in there, too. You’ve even tried to put Willow’s face, Tarzan’s tail, tree leaves, and a rocking chair in your mouth! And you love sucking/chomping on your two index fingers at the same time. You laugh at the dogs a lot, and yesterday you got to see them playing outside for the first time, and it cracked you up! I think you’re going to be quite the animal lover (how could you not be?). We’ve been practicing sitting on the floor without the Bumbo, and I think you’ll be sitting on your own before too long–which is probably a good thing since your little thighs are getting so chubby, you might not fit in the Bumbo much longer!
You’re getting to be a better sport about car rides, especially when we’ve got rain sounds for you, either from Sleep Sheep or my phone. We even made it allll the way to Telford, TN to visit your Dad’s side of the family. You had a lot of fun with your grandparents and your aunts. Hopefully this will be a regular thing for you; when you get older you might even get to spend a week or two at their house by yourself. Wednesday we’re going up to Greers Ferry, and you’ll swim in a lake for the first time.
What else? Oh, you’ve started doing these chin kisses on me, and it’s soooo cute. I need to get someone to get a picture or some video of it, because it’s the sweetest thing ever. You put my whole chin in your mouth and rub your gums back and forth. And you’re becoming an expert grabber. You’ve taken an interest in toys; you look at them and put them in your mouth, of course. We’re about to take you on a stroller ride up to the snow cone stand, which hopefully won’t be the worst idea we’ve ever had (totally has the potential to). Mama needs her snow cone.
Here are some pictures I took of you today in the yard:
And here are some others from your fourth month:
