You turned one month old today. It’s almost impossible to believe that it’s already been one month–it feels like I just had you last week! Aside from your eventful birth, your first month has been relatively low-key. You’ve had some outings, but most of the time we just hang out around the house. You love sleeping on my or your dad’s chest…that’s about your favorite place in the world right now. As I type this, you’re having your first bottle, at the urging of your Aunt Erica. Don’t worry, we’re nowhere near finished breasteeding you, we’re just practicing having a bottle for those times I can’t be there to feed you myself. You are such a good eater, but sometimes you like to play the “off-again, on-again” game.
Today was a pretty typical Sunday. We “slept in” until 9, though you were up at 5:30 or so for a meal. You went with us to run some errands, which is something your dad and I always have done on Sundays. It rained a ton yesterday, and was still rainy today, so your dad didn’t get to do the yard work he wanted to do. I’m hoping for a pretty Sunday soon so we can all go for a hike or to the park. Your dogs are just dying to get out and stretch their legs. We had some visitors this afternoon–Will, Betsy, and Jacob. They were so glad to meet you! This evening we went to Mimi and Papa’s house, and you got to meet your Aunt Sara, Uncle Jerry, and cousin Clare. Your cousin, Ross, just loves to hold you. Tonight he was quite concerned (thanks to Mimi) about where your teeth were. You’re “Baby Sadie” to all of your cousins, and there are a lot of them! There’s Lauren Frances and Hunter, Lindsey, Ross, Hudson, Sophia, and “Baby Love” on the way. Everyone is so excited about you. Tonight you and I had a bath, and I’m glad to say that you like baths pretty well. You didn’t at first, but once we decided to put you in the tub with me, things have gone much smoother.
It’s hard to believe how much you’ve grown. We haven’t had our one-month checkup yet (I’ll be calling about that tomorrow), but I bet you’re not too far from 10 pounds, if you aren’t already! We love you more and more each day.
Here are some pictures of you from today, your one-month birthday.
