Fellow Little Rock blogger, Fawn at Instead of the Dishes, has organized a springtime retreat just for moms. It sounds like a great way to re-charge, and I just might be able to swing the Saturday-only option (I seriously doubt Sadie will have weaned by then, but maybe next year).
Here’s what Fawn has to say about it:
Gather up all your mom friends for MOMcation 2010: a retreat for every MOM. The getaway begins on Friday, April 23rd at 4pm and runs through Sunday, April 25th at 11am. MOMcation 2010 will be at Heifer Ranch, which is located about 45 minutes northwest of Little Rock, near Perryville, AR. This all-inclusive retreat includes lodging, meals, workshops, and activities with the goal of providing moms the chance to get away from it all, meet and learn from other moms, and also take time for some quiet reflection. To learn more, visit the website at http://momcation.org.
Heifer Ranch is a place that is very near and dear to me. It is where Trevor and I met and began dating. In fact, there’d be no Sadie without Heifer Ranch. In addition to volunteering for many, many months, I have had the opportunity to stay there as a guest and as a program participant. It has a unique and relaxing atmosphere, and the staff is great.
If you’re a mom within a reasonable travel distance, you should check into this. It’s a fantastic idea, and I think it’ll be a lot of fun.
