Sadie’s birth in pictures: Part IV

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Okay, get ready for this one. It looks like my face and neck have merged into one giant glob. And I’m not 100 percent clothed.

April 2, 2009, 3:39pm. I don't know if my face conveys it or not (I kind of look like I'm dead), but finally getting into the birthing pool was SO NICE. And why do I look like I have a farmer's tan? I must have been out and about right before Sadie was born.

3:54pm. Thank you, Cajun's Wharf, for making a giant glass jar with which Trevor could pour warm water down my back during contractions. It helped.

Sadie’s birth in pictures: Part I

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

April 2, 2009, 9:48am. Hanging on the couch, sleeping a little between contractions (which started around 12:45 that morning).

Okay, so I’m a little embarrassed by some of the pictures that will follow. But I finally have the guts to post them, so here you go.

9:51 Trevor is, of course, pretty bored. I'm so glad we don't have that loveseat anymore.

How to clean hardwood floors, naturally

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I’d really like to be able to tell you how to do this. The thing is, it’s a HUGE challenge to get my floors even ready to be cleaned. I have to work like mad during Sadie’s naps (which I did this past Saturday), and then I have to get somebody to take Sadie out of the house so I can actually do the cleaning. I’d purchased some floor cleaner by a brand called Babyganics or something like that. Supposed to be good for the environment and safe for babies (and pets). I scrubbed the floors Cinderella-style on Saturday, and by the time they were dry, it looked like I hadn’t even done a thing to them.

So, does anybody have any other suggestions? I’m eager to try something else. It needs to a) be safe for Sadie (and the pets), b) not be full of scary chemicals, and c) actually WORK. I want shiny, clean floors.
